Our emergency first aid at work course has been developed to meet industry standards for anyone who requires an emergency first aid at work qualification. 

This course is ran over 1 day and is suitable for HSE compliance.

Developed by The Mountain Medics this course is no standard first aid course. It is hands on and is tailored to give you the skills to deal with any emergency incidents that may occur.

    The Role of the Emergency First Aider

    • Overview of the emergency first aider’s responsibilities

    • Assessing the situation and the casualty

    • Recognising when to call for professional help

    Basic Life Support (BLS)

    • The DR ABC approach (Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation)

    • Performing CPR: adult, child, and infant techniques

    • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

    Choking

    • Identifying signs of choking

    • Techniques for assisting adults, children, and infants who are choking

    Wounds and Bleeding

    • Types of wounds and how to assess them

    • Control of bleeding: direct pressure, elevation, and the use of dressings

    • Managing severe bleeding and shock

    Burns and Scalds

    • Types of burns (thermal, electrical, chemical)

    • First aid treatment for burns and scalds
